ABOUT
This
beautiful soft-coated breed has all the best qualities
anyone can ask for. They are loyal, intelligent, playful,
and do very well with children and other pets, while possessing
a very gentle and sweet disposition. They are just plain
FUN to watch. As if that weren't enough, they are a non-shedding hypoallergenic breed. It’s a win/win situation!!
(Something both the Yankees and Red Sox strive for every
year! Ok, maybe just a "win"). 
The Havanese is a member
of the Bichon family of dogs to include the Bichon Frise,
The Bichon Bolognese, The Coton Tulear, The Maltese and
The Tsvetnaya Bolonka. It is reported that these dogs were
brought to the Canary Islands and other ports by Spanish
Sailors as gifts for royalty. The Havanese breed as we
know it today was actually developed in Cuba. The Havanese
is a member of the AKC Toy group but is surprisingly sturdy
for such a small dog. Their height generally ranges from
8 1/2 to 11 1/2 at the withers. They are somewhat longer
than tall and weigh between 8 and 12 lbs. This wonderful
and intelligent breed fits in well with any family type
to include older adults or families with small children.
